Refund & Returns Policy

This policy sets out how returns, cancellations and refunds work at Gadgetly. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

Gadgetly is a trading name of Mad Tech Heads Ltd (registered in England and Wales, company no. 14440918). This policy applies to all purchases made through gadgetly.co.uk for delivery within the United Kingdom.

1. Your 30-day Gadgetly returns window

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have a statutory right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods. As a goodwill gesture, Gadgetly extends this to a 30-day returns window — you may cancel and return for any reason within 30 days of delivery, no questions asked.

  • You have 30 days from delivery to notify us of your decision to cancel.
  • You then have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.
  • Goods must be returned unused, in their original condition and packaging, with any tags, seals or protective films intact.
  • You are free to examine an item as you would in a shop, but items that have been used beyond that — or damaged through your handling — may have their refund reduced accordingly.

2. How to start a return

  1. Email info@gadgetly.co.uk within 30 days of delivery with your order number and the item(s) you wish to return.
  2. We will reply within 1 working day with return instructions and the return address.
  3. Package the goods securely in their original packaging and post them to the returns address supplied.

3. Who pays for return postage

For change-of-mind returns (cancellations under the Consumer Contracts Regulations), you are responsible for the cost of return postage. We recommend using a tracked and insured service — the goods remain your responsibility until they reach us, and we cannot refund items lost in transit without proof of postage.

For faulty, damaged or incorrect items, see section 6 below — we cover return postage in those cases.

4. Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you by email of the outcome. If approved:

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout.
  • Refunds are normally processed within 5 working days of receipt, and may take a further 1–5 days to appear on your statement depending on your bank or card issuer.
  • Your refund will include the price of the goods and the original standard delivery charge (where applicable). If you chose a premium delivery upgrade, we refund only the cost of our standard service.
  • Refunds will not include the cost of return postage for change-of-mind returns.

5. Items that cannot be returned

By law, some goods are exempt from the right to cancel. These include:

  • Goods that have been unsealed after delivery and are not suitable for return for hygiene or health protection reasons (e.g. personal grooming items, earphones/headphones where the hygiene seal is broken).
  • Personalised or custom-made items produced to your specification.
  • Sealed audio, video or software products that have been unsealed after delivery.
  • Goods that, by their nature, become mixed inseparably with other items after delivery.

Where a product falls into one of these categories, this will be clearly indicated on the product page before you order.

6. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are in addition to your statutory right to cancel and our 30-day returns window. If an item you receive is faulty, damaged in transit, or not what you ordered:

  • Email info@gadgetly.co.uk as soon as possible, and within 30 days of delivery at the latest, including photos of the issue where relevant.
  • We will arrange a free return (we cover the postage) and send you either a replacement or a full refund — your choice.
  • If a fault develops within 6 months of delivery, you may also be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

7. Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges. If you would like a different size, colour or product, please return the original for a refund and place a new order on the website.

8. Order cancellations before dispatch

If you change your mind before your order has been dispatched, email us immediately at info@gadgetly.co.uk quoting your order number. If dispatch has not yet occurred we will cancel the order and issue a full refund, including delivery. Once an order has been handed to the courier we cannot intercept it and you will need to follow the returns process above.

9. Returns address

Please do not send returns without contacting us first — we will confirm the correct returns address in response to your email, as it may differ from our registered office depending on the item.

10. Your statutory rights

This policy does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, or any other applicable UK legislation. If you have a complaint we cannot resolve, you may contact the Citizens Advice consumer service.
